Drawing Class with Antoniette Preston

In this class, we will begin with the fundamentals and progress step by step through the process of creating a realistic portrait. Using a reference image, I will guide you through how to accurately transfer the image onto watercolour paper.
Working together, we will use Polychromos and Derwent pencils to build up layers and develop a Life like texture. You will learn techniques for creating depth, shadow, and subtle colour variation to achieve a photorealistic effect.
Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, this class will offer practical tips and techniques that you can apply to future artwork. Most importantly, we’ll enjoy the creative process.

Acrylic Pop Art Portraits with Jennifer Segrave

Do you admire the work of Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein or Richard Hamilton? Do you want to learn to paint in the colourful, animated style of Pop Art? This 6 week course is suitable for beginners or those intending to refresh their understanding of this eccentric Modern Art Movement and acrylic painting. Each week you will continue to build upon your knowledge and skills to self assess your paintings.

Techniques and Details (all levels) with William Ritchie

William’s class is an “open” art class: paint in oil, acrylic, watercolour or gouache. This class is focused at details and techniques. Students are encouraged to tap into William’s extensive knowledge and learn from his example by identifying unique characteristics in subjects and representing them as realistically as possible. This class is suitable for all student from beginner’s to advanced.

Pastel Drawing (ages 9-18) with Jim Reilly

Drawing Illustration with Aurora Foo
Saturday - 1pm to 3pm

The class combines fineliner drawing with watercolour washes. Students start with reference-based exercises to build skills, then move on to individual projects to develop their own style. It’s aimed at older teenagers and adults who enjoy creative hobbies, illustrated journaling, or capturing everyday scenes, perfect for beginners or hobbyists looking for a relaxing, skill-building experience.

Manga Drawing with Aurora Foo (age 10-18)

Children interested in animation and comic style art have an opportunity to develop their creativity with a teacher passionate about visual storytelling.
Accomplished in the Japanese style of drawing known as Manga, Aurora Foo shows students how to create compelling illustrated stories in a fun and focused class that explores narrative design processes. She guides students in using pencil and watercolour to define character and setting, while demonstrating how they can incorporate atmosphere, tension, drama and humour into their artwork.

Drawing Fundamentals with Carolyn Large
Friday - 1pm to 3pm
FEB 6 to MAR 6, 2026.
5 Weeks | $150
In this class we explore the core principles of successful drawing – Shape, Light, Tone and Proportion. This class will develop your ability to produce successful drawings using both graphite pencil and charcoal.
We will use fun and challenging exercises to develop your skills and personal style from still life to basic charcoal portraiture.
